about the Glenorie Place Plan

Both The Hills Council and Hornsby Council are investigating the future development of Glenorie Village.

Presently The Hills Council’s Place Strategy is on exhibition until 1 December 2025.

There are a number of constraints that must be considered in assessing the Glenories Place Plan.

An increase in house density and subdivision are proposed.

It does not seem that the Traffic Congestion on Old Northern Road and New Line Road has been properly considered.

Sydney Water says it has no capacity to increase the availability of sewer to the area. On-site sewerage disposal will be the only option for future development and this will result in pollution of our creek systems. Local residents are also aware that potable water pressure drops during periods of high demand in summer.

Essential infrastructure must be provided before proceeding with the proposal.

Council’s Bushfire Study says that the land is not suitable for subdivision.

The Greater Sydney Commission has determined that our rural lands must be kept for future food security.

Now we find that the State Government is imposing a Housing Strategy on rural lands that has not been considered by Council.

Local residents should evaluate The Hills proposal, make a submission and preserve the village values they hold

dear.

Both Hornsby Council and The Hills Council should cease their planning for rural rural subdivision until the NSW Government enacts this legislation so that residents know just what the impacts on our rural areas, our amenity and our traffic congestion will be.

Contact Council and ask it to cease its rural subdivision planning initiatives.
